to the Columbia Basin Chapter of SHRM Website! Here you can connect with
the programs and people to create a more informed human
resources professional.
With over 100 members, we are a dynamic and diverse association
of human resource professionals. We are a local chapter of
the Society for Human Resource
Management® and affiliated with the
Northwest
Human Resource Management Association. We welcome
practitioners at all levels and those in service to the
profession who share our goals.

What is SHRM?
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM®) is the leading voice of the
human resource profession. SHRM provides education and information services,
conferences and seminars, government and media representation, online services
and publications to more than 170,000 professional and student members
throughout the world. The Society, the world's largest human resource
management association, is a founding member of the North American Human
Resource Management Association (NAHRMA) and a founding member of the World
Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA).

History
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), formerly
called the American Society for Personnel Administration (ASPA),
was founded in 1948 by a group of just 28 individuals who
anticipated the need for a national personnel
organization. The goal in founding ASPA was to
provide continued professional development opportunities
for what the founding members recognized as a profession
in transition, promote national networking, and to
generally advance the interests of the profession. |
