Serving our members is our top priority and each year, we like to take an opportunity to provide our members with a free networking meeting with continuing education credits available. Recognizing and Addressing Workplace Harassment and Discrimination

Employers and employees have a collective and individual responsibility for creating and maintaining workplaces that are welcoming and inclusive for all individuals. Employers should draft and enforce policies which foster workplace civility, free from discrimination and harassment; managers, supervisors and employees should be trained at all levels to understand what behaviors, words and actions may create an atmosphere of hostility and harassment, how to avoid those behaviors, and how to address them if they arise in the workplace. This interactive presentation will introduce the audience to the state and federal laws which provide workplace protections; how discrimination and harassment may manifest in the workplace; how to recognize, investigate, address and stop these workplace behaviors. We will also discuss best practices for drafting and enforcing an effective workplace anti-harassment policy.Angela Hayes
